Seattle's Seated Chair Massage at the Office, Workplace or Corporate Events
Welcome
to the new Dreamclinic Onsite Chair Massage Service. After surveying
many in-clinic clients and also doing interviews at workplaces around
Seattle we received an overwhelming response that chair massage at the
office or at corporate events is a desirable service to offer. Thank
you to all who participated in our research!
History
Chair Massage is performed using a
specially designed portable massage chair, comfortable to sit in and
that gives a massage therapist easy access to a client's neck,
shoulders, back, arms and hands.
This seated chair approach to massage of
bodywork was originally pioneered as “on-site massage’ for
the workplace by David Palmer, who developed the first specialized
Massage Chair in 1986. Since then chair massage has expanded into
storefronts, health food stores, airports, airplanes, health fairs,
convention centers, sporting events and other locations. Because
clients remain fully clothed and a chair massage session takes less
time and less cost than full table massage, it has become a popular way
to offer the benefits of professional massage to the general public.

Benefits
Tight muscles caused by stress and sitting behind a desk
all day, especially at a workstation that is not ergonomically
designed, can impede blood and lymph flow through the body. The result
is decreased energy and susceptibility to repetitive stress injuries,
like carpal tunnel syndrome.
Chair massage counters the circulatory problems inherent
with office work and offers an appreciated breaks for employees. Even
15 minutes of massage to the neck, back, arms and hands can improve
circulation, returning energy levels and helping keep the body injury
free. Below are the most frequently cited benefits of chair massage for
employees:
- Pain relief from sore, tight muscles
- More relaxed and flexible muscles
- Improved mental alertness and concentration
- Reduced risk of injury from repetitive motion (due early detection of symptoms)
- Better overall health from increased activity of the immune system
